My Ocean Campaign

Make your voice count this summer by joining Philippe Cousteau and Ian Somerhalder in the My Ocean campaign to proclaim what YOU are doing to protect YOUR ocean. The winner receives a trip for to the the 2012 World Expo in South Korea! 

If you are between the ages of 13 and 22 all you have to do is submit your 15-second video “tout” to answer to the question “What are you doing to protect the ocean?” So use your smartphone, tablet, or computer to share the news about the good that you are doing.

Submit your video by July 13, 2012, to be eligible to win one of these amazing prizes: 

  • Grand Prize - Two round-trip tickets to Yeosu, Korea, to attend the 2012 World Expo 
  • Second place - a video of Philippe Cousteau and Ian Somerhalder thanking you for your commitment to the oceans that you can use on you Facebook page or personal website.
  • Third Place - a boxed DVD set of a complete season of The Vampire Diaries signed by Ian Somerhalder.

You don’t have to live near the ocean to participate. We all live upstream from someone. So whether you live on the coast or in a land-locked state, your everyday actions ultimately
have an impact on our oceans. Take a look at this list for inspiration and ideas on how to get started. Interested in learning more? Investigate WHY these actions have a positive impact on the oceans at the Water Planet Challenge. We can’t wait to see what you are doing to protect the ocean!

Join Philippe and Ian in spreading the message of the My Ocean campaign TODAY. This campaign is part of the educational outreach surrounding the USA Pavilion at the 2012 International Expo in Yeosu, Korea, where the theme is “The Living Ocean and Coast”.

  • On the widget at the top of this page, click on reply.
  • Create a 15-second video telling us what YOU are doing to protect YOUR ocean using the hashtag #myocean

  • Open the Tout app and create or log in to your Tout account
