National Biodiversity Teach In

February 12th, 2016

EarthEcho is proud to present, in conjunction with Elgin High School (Elgin, Illinois), an ocean-themed day for the 2016 National Biodiversity Teach-In. We are bringing together speakers and scientists from across the globe for a day of free webinars for your classroom. Each speaker is working to protect our Water Planet and preserve the biodiversity found in our oceans and beyond.

Our day will be headlined by our own, Philippe Cousteau, who will present over the lunch hour (12 p.m. - 1p.m. CST) on Our Oceans as a Resource.

Join us for one webinar or for the whole day. Registration links can be found below. All times listed are Central Standard Time (CST).

Click on each presentation title to learn more about the topic, presenter, and access classroom resources.

About the Teach-In

The National Biodiversity Teach In is a webinar series for classrooms designed to bring awareness to the importance of biodiversity. Created by Deb Perryman’s AP Environmental Science at Elgin High School in response to the story of Martha, the last passenger pigeon, the goal is to bring stories of biodiversity to classrooms and individuals around the globe.

Originally conceived as a week-long event, this year the Teach-In will take place every Friday in February. Friday, February 12th will be presented by EarthEcho International with a day of ocean themed webinars, featuring Philippe Cousteau Jr. at 12pm CST.
