Sofía Lammot Pérez

Sofía Lammot Pérez is a rising senior from Dorado, Puerto Rico, embracing diverse cultures throughout her life's journey. Passionate about the ocean and drawn to the waves, Sofia has shaped her identity as both a dedicated surfer and an advocate for ocean conservation. Her love for the sea and its fragile ecosystem led her to establish the first Surfrider Foundation student chapter in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, paving the way for environmental education and sustainable practices in her local surfing community. Beyond her devotion to the ocean, Sofia is a lover of music, enjoys the company of friends, playing soccer, the arts, and a deep curiosity to explore the diversity of the world. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Sofia embraces her unique upbringing and seeks to educate her island community on how the smallest actions can form into long lasting changes. Sofia seeks to leave a lasting legacy in the realms of surfing, environmental activism, and cultural exchange through her work with EarthEcho's ResilienSEA Externship and aspiring studies of Environmental advocacy in the future.
