Blue Frontier Campaign invites you to nominate candidates for the 5th Annual Peter Benchley Ocean Awards to be held June 23, 2012.

The Benchley Awards have been called the Oscars for those who act on behalf of the ocean.  They are given annually and are the only existing awards that acknowledge outstanding achievement leading to the protection of our coasts and ocean across a broad range of categories. They are an opportunity to unify, inspire and recognize leaders in ocean and coastal conservation solutions: to celebrate what we have accomplished and the wonders of our blue ocean planet.

The Benchley Award itself was designed and donated by the marine artist Wyland. Past Masters of Ceremony have included Philippe Cousteau and Dr. Sylvia Earle.
