Philippe Cousteau Jr.’s EarthEcho International Welcomes a New Class of Emerging Leaders to the Movement to Save Our Ocean Planet

(Washington, D.C. – August 6) Philippe Cousteau, Jr.’s EarthEcho International welcomes eight new members to its Youth Leadership Council (YLC). The Youth Leadership Council is made up of outstanding young change-makers dedicated to building a global youth movement to protect and restore our ocean planet. YLC members have demonstrated they are leaders in their communities and on the global scale, and work in tandem with EarthEcho International’s staff and Board of Directors to expand the scope and impact of the organization’s worldwide programs and partnerships. Through a competitive selection process, EarthEcho International is proud to welcome new members from Argentina, the Bahamas, the Philippines, and the United States. “These individuals may be young, but when it comes to protecting and restoring our ocean and our most critical natural habitats, each and every one of them has demonstrated leadership far beyond their years. It is both humbling and thrilling to see the skills and experiences our new members bring to the table,” said EarthEcho founder Philippe Cousteau, Jr. “EarthEcho International’s Youth Leadership Council provides a platform and an international network for these change-makers to take their impact to the next level.”

Serving two-year terms, the YLC is the guiding voice driving the development and implementation of EarthEcho’s global programs designed to strengthen agency in young people worldwide to build a durable conservation movement. The YLC unites 21 young people, between the  ages of 15 to 22 years old, who have demonstrated an ability to mobilize their communities to have a positive impact on our planet.
