Philippe Cousteau Jr.’s EarthEcho International Welcomes a New Class of Youth Advocates to the Movement to Save Our Ocean Planet

(Washington, D.C.) – EarthEcho International, Philippe Cousteau, Jr.’s nonprofit dedicated to building a global youth movement to protect and restore our ocean planet, announced the addition of 11 new members to its Youth Leadership Council (YLC). The incoming class of Council members unites young environmental champions, ages 15-22, from Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom and the United States. The EarthEcho YLC expands the scope and impact of the organization’s worldwide programs and partnerships.  

“Each of these young environmental advocates brings unique insights, innovative thinking and a sense of urgency to the fight to restore our most important natural resource - the ocean,” said EarthEcho Founder Philippe Cousteau, Jr. “The EarthEcho Youth Leadership Council provides a platform and an international network for these emerging leaders to amplify their impact.”

Serving two-year terms, the YLC is the guiding voice driving the development and implementation of EarthEcho’s global programs designed to strengthen agency in young people worldwide to build a durable conservation movement. The YLC unites 25 young people, selected through a competitive application process, who have demonstrated an ability to mobilize their communities to have a positive impact on our planet. EarthEcho’s youth leadership work is made possible through the support of La Mer Blue Heart Oceans Fund and The Estée Lauder Companies Travel Retail division.
