Sean Russell: Youth Leadership Fellow

EarthEcho is excited to welcome Sean Russell to our team as a Youth Leadership Fellow. Sean is the founder and director of the Stow It-Don’t Throw It Project, a youth-driven marine debris prevention program he launched in 2008; and the first Youth Ocean Conservation Summit (YOCS). Since the establishment of YOCS in partnership with Mote Marine Lab in 2011, the program has expanded through a series of satellite YOCS events across the country. Sean has held several leadership and membership roles on national boards, including: Youth Service America’s Board of Directors, the State Farm Youth Advisory Board, and the Florida 4-H Foundation Board of Directors.

During his fellowship, Sean will be developing and organizing EarthEcho’s inaugural Youth Leadership Council. We believe young people play a pivotal role as leaders in environmental conservation and education. This select group of young people will support EarthEcho by providing valuable insight while helping us develop and lead programs that meet our mission to inspire young people worldwide to act now for a sustainable future. We look forward to working with Sean as he expands the impact of EarthEcho’s programs through the authentic integration of youth leadership! More details on the Youth Advisory Council will be announced soon - stay tuned!
