Becky studied Natural Sciences Biology and Studio Art at the University of Puget Sound. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in May 2017 and was a member of the Biological Honor’s Society, Phi Sigma. Becky has been involved in the field of marine science for five years now and came to the Youth Leadership Council after working at the Seattle Aquarium as a Youth Engagement Mentor. The Seattle Aquarium is where she developed her passion for marine science. That passion lead her to the Turks and Caicos Islands where she attended the School for Field Studies: Marine Resources program. Becky has also enjoyed a variety of water sports. While abroad she received her Advanced Open Water Scuba Diving certification, and throughout college she rowed for the women’s crew team, eventually taking on the role of team captain her senior year. This summer Becky is working as an instructor for the Math and Science Leadership Program at the University of Washington. In fall she plans to continue exploring the field of marine science and consider graduate school options.
