On November 4 and 5, 2023, over 230 youth and community mentors united at the 2023 EarthEcho Youth Leadership Summit through eight in-person events around the world, as well as through a virtual session. The goal of this Summit was elevating youth-led efforts to amplify ocean-based climate solutions in the lead-up to COP28. Through a series of roundtables, developed in collaboration with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the U.S. Department of State, we captured priorities and recommendations from youth leaders for advancing ocean climate action, as well as opportunities for government officials to better engage with youth and underrepresented audiences.
