Amanda Sun
Youth Leadership Council member
Sunnyvale, CA
Amanda studies writing and computer science at Dartmouth College. She also loves learning languages: Chinese currently and previously French and Spanish. She calls the Bay Area her home but remembers China and New Jersey.
Amanda’s activism is informed by her time on cross country and Women’s Empowerment club. During high school she wrote a body positivity coloring book Love, now used by art therapy programs across the nation. On a gap year, Amanda worked as a stagaire at a sustainable, natural yeast bakery accelerator.
Last year, Amanda co-created Cross-Campus Sustainability, a community of social justice and sustainability students from 40+ universities.
Currently, Amanda chairs Environmental Stewardship Division, a club previously responsible for creating the Environmental Studies department and Sustainability Office at Dartmouth. She extended her social activism with @tellasianstories, a platform responding to racism against Asian-Americans.
