Fractional Sustainability Leader, Principal Consultant & Founder, One Small Step

Brian is the Principal and Founder at One Small Step, a sustainability consultancy specializing in helping businesses navigate the complexities of sustainability and ESG to deliver impactful results for the environment, people, and business. He has more than 20 years’ of experience in the aerospace industry as a corporate sustainability leader and aerospace engineer. 

Prior to founding One Small Step, Brian led the environmental sustainability & ESG program at Northrop Grumman and has over 13 years of experience in corporate sustainability programs. His expertise spans sustainability strategy, business decarbonization planning and implementation, GHG inventory development, and ESG management and reporting. He was also a driving force behind the formation of the company’s Technology for Conservation program. He served on the Board of Directors for the International Aerospace Environmental Group and was a member of Hermosa Beach’s inaugural Green Task Force.

Before pivoting his career into sustainability, Brian spent seven years as a Design Engineer on the F-35 and James Webb Space Telescope at Northrop Grumman. He also held positions at the XPRIZE Foundation, The Boeing Company, and the United Space Alliance at NASA’s Johnson Space Center.

Brian holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Purdue University, a M.S. in Space Management from the International Space University, and a Certificate in Global Sustainability from UCLA.
