Andre Chadzynski
Expedition Fellow: Plasticseas
Andre has been a geography teacher for 38 years and is passionate about the importance of real-world education for young people. This has led to an interest in creating fieldwork activities and programs for students to collect and analyze data first hand. He has also been involved in Outdoor Education for many years as a means to connect young people with the natural environment. More recently he has been exploring the value of spatial digital technologies as a means to further engage students in primary data collection and analysis. Citizen science provides an opportunity to combine these areas and in August 2017 he participated in a “TeachLive” program researching the impact of coastal runoff on sea
grass habitats and Dugongs in Moreton Bay, Queensland.
