Kassandra is in her first year studying Environmental Science at Simon Fraser University in Canada. In 2021, she became part of a youth leadership program called Youth to Sea where she became involved in shoreline cleanups, planting, water testing, educational outreach and more. Through these activities, she learned about her local environment in depth and up close which sparked her passion for the environment. Seeing the impact learning had on her, she became motivated to use education to spark the same passion for others in her community. Today, she volunteers as an Animal Educator at the Vancouver Aquarium and stays involved with Youth to Sea and her community.
