Mehak Arora

Mehak Arora is a first year undergraduate student at the University of Texas at Austin. With an ardor for environmental conservation, accentuating youth climate education is at the forefront for her advocacy platform. As a member of the 2023 Collegiate Climate Policy Institute cohort, Mehak believes in establishing an upstanding legacy for her community by empowering peers around her. Working as a representative for the Gulf of Mexico Youth advisory congress, Mehak guides the empowerment of peers through efforts in education, advocacy, and policy throughout the gulf. Finding non-traditional routes to justice accessibility has led her ideas to be recognized by the GEEP and NAAEE. Finally, certified by the Texas Stream Team and trained with the Climate Reality Project, ensuring the health of local water sources drives her passion for aquatic research and climate equity management.
