Renz Nathaniel Luyao

Renz is a 19-year-old environmental youth leader and visual storyteller based in Makati, Metro Manila. He passionately advocates for biodiversity protection, with a particular focus on oceans. Originally from the southern Philippines, specifically the Zamboanga Peninsula, Renz draws inspiration from the challenges and resilience of coastal community life.

Currently, Renz serves on the National Youth Council of WWF Philippines and holds ambassadorial roles for the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Ambassadors Program and the El Ni-NO Youth Organization. He actively promotes sustainability, youth empowerment, and marine conservation efforts.

In his role as Deputy Director of Multimedia and Design at the Young Filipino Advocates of Critical Thinking and Wavefarers Creatives, Renz leads environmental initiatives through capacity building, training sessions, and online webinars.

A graduate scholar of the prestigious Philippine Science High School System and currently studying at IAcademy Makati, Renz is a multi-awarded photographer whose work has garnered international recognition for over seven years, showcasing his creative leadership skills. His accolades include the East Asian Seas Futures Award, and collaborations with esteemed institutions such as the U.S. Embassy, UNICEF, and FAO, all underscoring his unwavering dedication to environmental advocacy and the preservation of our planet.
