Serenity Washington is a 17 year old African American teenager who is from Cape Coral, Florida and is an upcoming senior at Cape Coral high school. She grew up in a family of 5, two loving parents and two wonderful older siblings, who were always present and supportive of each other’s dreams, goals, and achievements. Serenity and her family’s relationship played a great role in building the confidence that Serenity has for education and success. Serenity has always had an interest in science and math related topics and knew at a young age that she would follow a path of science and mathematics. After high school, Serenity aspires to pursue a higher education in the field of biology. By pursuing a career in science she believes that she will have endless opportunities that allow her to make her mark on the world as well as obtain a stable and well paying job. She enjoys activities such as spending quality time with her family, going to the movies, going to the beach, and going to the mall. She could not be more happier than she is to participate in the opportunity that is the ResilienSea externship and be a part of an amazing community of people who share the same love and compassion as her.
