Carson, CA, USA
Stephanie Akinfolarin is a 16 year old Nigerian-American who attends Cate School of Carpentaria, CA. She has been passionate about ocean pollution for as long as she could remember. In 8th grade, she was the second place winner of the World of 7 Billion video contest, in which she had to create a video talking about environmental racism in the community. Stephanie had the opportunity to have her video showcased on many news outlets. Later on, she started a nonprofit called Young Ocean Advocates, which helps to train young activists to fight for the environment and host their own beach cleanup for volunteer hours. Stephanie was recently interviewed for the National Youth Leadership Council podcast to talk about her experiences, which is featured on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and RSS. For fun, Stephanie likes to listen to music, watch movies, bake desserts, play volleyball, travel, and hangout with friends.
