Yanfei Jia, an 18-year-old environmental advocate from Washington, United States, is poised to begin her journey as a freshman at the University of Washington, where she will pursue a degree in business. Yanfei developed a deep appreciation for environmental conservation from a young age.

In addition to her environmental advocacy, Yanfei serves as the Vice Chair of the Youth Mayor Commission in her city, where she works directly with the mayor and council members to make her community a better place. Her impact extends beyond Washington State; she hosted a session at the Local Conference of Youth in Washington DC as a delegate to adocate climate change, engaging with peers from across the United States. Yanfei's leadership and dedication have earned her the opportunity to organize the conference this year, further amplifying her commitment to youth empowerment and environmental activism.

In her free time, she enjoys exploring nature trails, practicing photography, and volunteering at a local wildlife rehabilitation center. She also in varsity sports team at her high school, dance and track and field. Yanfei is eager to continue her advocacy work as an EarthEcho Blue Carbon ambassador and looks forward to making a meaningful impact on environmental issues in her community and beyond.
